App Structure

The whole app is divided into three parts: Main Course, Peppa World and Parent-Side. I was mainly in charge of the design for Peppa Pig and Parent-side (early phase).

In Peppa World, kids play as Peppa Pig. By tapping the screen, they can operate Peppa to explore the scene. I chose Peppa’s house as the main scene of Peppa World because home means stable and safe, and it is reasonable they go back home after learning. What’s more, different functions can be distributed in different rooms in Peppa’s house. We use diegetic UI to provide an immersive experience to the kids, giving them a feeling of playing house. As for me, Peppa World is like an amusement park that contains all the fun things children will be fond of, where they can have a rest after the systematic courses.
Main Course contains all the systematic courses. These linear courses are based on syllabus provided by a professional teaching institution, and for this part, I was responsible guiding and reviewing all the mini-game. Taking the development costs into consideration, we decided to focus on a limited amount of game genres, but make plenty of levels with various art themes to give the kids fresh feelings. For example, we have running games, racing games, spotting difference games and so on, all of which combined the fun of game with learning.
